That the message from Willie Miller, the ex-Aberdeen and Scotland Hero as he launched a campaign to get men to save their own lives - by perfecting their “ball skills”.

He showed off posters with slogans such as “Don’t be nuts - get checked out” and “Get acquainted with your bits and pieces”.

The charity UCAN have aimed the campaign at increasing awareness of illnesses including testicular and prostate cancer.

Miller, 51, expects the campaign to shock one or two people initially (it certainly did him), as it depicts a woman’s hands going down the front of a man’s boxer shorts.

“When you’re dealing with issues like this, you’ve sometimes got to take a different route to make an impact.” said Miller.

Toned-down versions of the ads, featuring conkers, will be put on bookmarks for schools.

Campaign manager Kate Synott said: “We’re using this risque, toilet humour to try to get the message across. It will grab people’s attention.”
