Lance Armstrong Foundation - 10 years on!
The Lance Armstrong Foundation is 10 years old this month and gets a new Chairman, Lance Armstrong himself!
The Foundation was founded 10 years ago, just as Lance finished chemotherapy and two years before he returned to competition in the Tour de France.
Armstrong has committed an additional $5 million dollars to the Foundation over the next 10 years, $1 million of which will be dedicated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation Endowment (LAFE).
“I am proud of the impact the LAF team has made and our efforts to inspire and empower people with cancer during the past decade,” says Armstrong. “I am equally invigorated by the challenges ahead and I am dedicated to ensuring that our country and those who lead it focus on the fight against cancer.”
